On the starter's signal of 'Ready, Steady, Go' teams comprised of four members compete as one to be the first to finish!

Each team has two members at each end of the 70-90meter course when the first member finishes their sprint they must pass it to the second and so on!

Remember, you must pass the baton to the next in your team whilst they are still behind the starting line.

Beach Flags

The age categories for this event are Youth, Seniors and Masters. This is an individuals event.

The jewel in the crown of Surf Lifesaving Sport. Competitors begin in the prone position and leap up, turn and charge as fast they can to collect the all coveted baton!

With one less baton than the number of competitors, one will be eliminated in every round.

Possibly one of the most competitive and demanding Surf Lifesaving disciplines Beach Flags comes with a detailed set of rules and regulations. Watch the video to the right for a detailed low down.

1k/2k Run

The age categories for this event are Youth, Seniors and Masters. This is an individuals event.

On the starter's signal of 'Ready, Steady, Go' competitors must pace themselves over a 1k course for Youth and Masters and a 2k course for Seniors.

The course will take place on flat tarmac, typically the beaches promenade and will require suitable footwear.

Typically the opening event of a Beach Twilight, the trick is to steady your stamina and run a marathon, not a sprint.
